According to the Department of Education (DFE), in September 2013 and September 2014 pupils finishing Year 11 will be required by law to attend school; home school; college; work based training (apprenticeship); or part-time education and at least 20 hrs voluntary work or self-employment per week for one academic year until they are 17.
From the year 2015 it will be until they are 18 ie 2 extra years of education following Year 11
